2013 U.S. Youth Ambassadors

Let’s welcome the 2013 U.S. Youth Ambassadors!!! From August 6 to 23, ten Youth Ambassadors from the U.S. will be in Brazil to participate in an

exciting youth exchange program. This will be the fourth edition of the successful program. The USYAs will spend three weeks in Brazil and we will follow their experiences and good times through this blog.

They will start this wonderful journey in Brasília where they will stay for three days getting to know the country’s capital city. Then, they will be divided into smaller groups and each will travel to a different part of Brazil. This year’s host states are: São Paulo and Pernambuco. At the end, they will be reunited in Rio de Janeiro for a program evaluation and for a brief tour of the “cidade maravilhosa”.

Please help us welcome them by posting a message to the USYAs in the blog’s comments area. Tell them what to expect and what they shouldn’t miss during their visit

Posted from Brasilia, Federal District, Brazil.

  1. Welcome to Brazil, guys!
I’m from Rio and I hope you all have a great time here!
Like I saw in your profiles, most of you like soccer so you can’t miss the ‘new Maracanã’! It’s beautiful! You should see Flamengo play, it’s the best team of Brazil!

Also, don’t miss the Santa Teresa neighbourhood! It has a few restaurants with typical brazilian food and many local artists live there, there is The Parque das Ruínas that has a great view, and the Chácara do Céu Museum!
After Santa Teresa you should go to Lapa, this neighbourhood is famous for it’s night life. There you can enjoy the Rio Scenarium Pavillion of Culture, where local artists perform there every night.

Hope you have a great time here!

    Thayna
